According to statistics, there are more than 2000 pump manufacturers of a certain scale in China. The whole pump industry produces about 450 series, more than 5000 varieties. General pumps can be basically designed and produced in China. Since the 1980s, China has introduced more than 100 series and more than 2000 varieties, which not only greatly impacted the domestic backward pump market, but also narrowed the gap with foreign products. In addition, through joint ventures and cooperation with foreign countries.the technology level of key pumps in China is approaching the advanced level of similar pumps abroad.
From the current situation, the domestic pump manufacturing industry is composed of three parts of enterprises. These three parts of enterprises are: state-owned enterprises reformed by joint-stock system. joint ventures and foreign-controlled joint-stock enterprises and a large number of private enterprises. According to the analysis of sales performance in recent years, the leading pump manufacturer is a large private pump manufacturer. They not only rank high-end pump manufacturing industry, become the backbone of the pump manufacturing industry, but also have the ability to follow-up development. However, a large number of small and medium-sized private enterprises are still at the bottom of the industrial chain. If they do not strive for progress and do not want to develop jointly, it will be difficult for them to continue for a long time. Although the state-owned enterprises after the reform of the joint-stock system have been struggling for quite a long time, it is gratifying that after integration and restructuring, they have gradually stepped out of the trough and become a growing force in the pump manufacturing industry. Stock companies, or even wholly-owned enterprises, currently occupy an important position in the domestic pump manufacturing industry. Some formerly senior large state-owned enterprises have traded their market, land and human resources for technology shares of foreign pump manufacturing enterprises. This has enabled us to rapidly improve the level of some key pumps, and at the same time, these joint ventures or foreign-funded enterprises themselves have become very popular in China. But we should also see that most of the pumps manufactured by these enterprises are still in the manufacturing category of ordinary pumps, and the really needed high-end products still need to be imported from abroad.
So far, the domestic pump industry has not formed a real brand advantage. The development of pump industry mainly depends on strong domestic demand. Due to the strong domestic demand in the next few years, there is room for the development of domestic pump industry. But the competition is fierce, including with the foreign pump industry. Due to the gradual loss of comparative advantage of the domestic pump industry and the deterioration of export conditions, the export of pumps is expected to be suppressed. It is expected that the pump products will be diversified and the matching capacity will be further improved.
As the domestic policy of encouraging new products to be made in China was first outlined by the government, it is expected that the development of urgently needed high-end pumps in China will be strongly promoted. Some new products, such as energy-saving and environmental protection electromagnetic heat pump, will be promoted and applied under the guidance of the policy. The level of pump design and advanced manufacturing technology will be further improved in large pump factories. The combination of the two technologies will bring a qualitative leap to pump factories. As mentioned earlier, the competition in domestic pump industry is intensifying, which will lead to the gradual elimination of some pump manufacturing enterprises and enterprises whose technology can not keep up with the requirements.
In the future, domestic demand for pump products will mainly focus on the following areas:
Environmental protection industry: The state intends to invest a huge sum of money in the construction of sewage treatment plants and industrial wastewater treatment plants.
Water Supply Project: The South-to-North Water Transfer Project and its branch water supply project are still urgently promoted in China.
Power Station: There is still a shortage of electricity in some parts of China, and the construction of new power stations is inevitable. Therefore, there is still a strong demand for pumps for various power stations.
Petroleum and Petrochemical Industry: Petroleum and Petrochemical Industry still has great development space in the future and in China. Therefore, various petrochemical and petroleum pumps are in great demand in China.
Farmland Water Conservancy Construction: With the national policy benefiting the rural areas, the gap of farmland water conservancy construction will inevitably be supplemented at a faster pace. This is an area where demand cannot be underestimated.
Before 2015, the domestic economy was still developing vigorously, and the demand for pumps in all walks of life was still strong. Therefore, relying on domestic demand, China's pump industry still has room for development.
